New soy spin-off
Proteins of plant origin have a significantly lower carbon footprint. To make futureproof protein consumption and production possible, a shift towards plant proteins is needed. Legume crops are an excellent source of protein. Soy, with up to 36 grams protein per 100 grams, is the first legume of choice for Protealis. As soy is a subtropical crop, it is not suited to thrive in our local soil. Breeding of varieties tolerant of conditions in northern latitudes will allow their local cultivation.
